Aga Khan Museum had a special program called, "Light Up the Dark", which was an outdoor projection exhibiting students' art work on the exterior of the museum. We were glad to be part of the light show appreciating all the masterpieces created by those talented students. Admission to all galleries was free after 4 pm that day. We took advantages of the opportunities to explore the latest exhibition at the museum, learning about how the Afghans connected with the world during the time of diversity through the beauty of art. We all enjoyed all the art collections.
Art Gallery of Mississauga (AGM) is a very small gallery. Despite its small size, it collects many pieces of artwork by local artists. Some indigenous arts were on display. It was very interesting to learn about a different culture by seeing the paintings. After that we went to Square One Shopping Centre, only steps away from AGM, for afternoon tea, while some of them went Black Friday shopping. Then we ordered takeout food for dinner and dined in a Goldie friend's home. We had lots of fun eating, chatting and singing together. We had such a relaxing and quality time that we actually did not feel like going home.
North York Library offers many different programs to visitors. We joined its Friday program, "Tea and Entertainment" and watched a documentary film called, "The Wild Canadian Year". Through the film, we learned the hardships that the wildlife animals faced in the winter in order to survive. It was very interesting as well as educational. The film was followed by refreshments. Everyone had a relaxing and warm afternoon staying indoors.
