We drove all the way to Stratford to watch Chicago The Musical. It was a terrific Broadway show. The singing and dancing were astonishing. The cast performance was fantastic. It definitely made our 2-hour drive worth it. For those who did not watch the show, they strolled around the park near the theatre and viewed the spectacular fall foliage. Then we visited Shakespearean Gardens, a very lovely small place built along a river. We all were attracted by its serenity. When Chicago The Musical was completed, we met each other again. We went to a hotel for dinner before we headed home. It was a wonderful outing!

The best way to enjoy the beauty of Fall foilage and the changing colors of autumn leaves is to go on a cruise. We started our day early in order to climb abroad a two-hour sightseeing cruise from Gravenhurst. Along Lake Muskoka's picturesque waterways, we experienced stunning leaf changes, though some of the leaves remained green in color. With the nice and sunny weather, we took in the autumn panoramas in a very enjoyable way. After our amazing cruise journey, we had dinner together in Minett, about 1 hour drive from Gravenhurst. Although we had a long day, we had a great time!

There was also a lake, along which we took a stroll and enjoyed the nature. After that, we shopped at a local farm / supermarket and an ice-cream shop for frozen sweets to support local businesses. Doors Open Toronto was a two-day event on May 28 and 29 with an aim to let the general public learn more about the city's iconic buildings and sites. R.C. Harris Water Treatment Plant was one of the locations open for the public to explore. The plant was designed in 1929, built from 1932 to 1937, opened in 1941 and expanded from 1955 to 1958. It is dubbed as "The Palace of Purification" and is the largest unified ensemble of Art Deco buildings in Toronto. Through this visit, we learned a lot about the two largest buildings at R.C. Harris, including the water treatment process. Before we left, we got a chance to taste some pure water at the drinking fountains outside the pumping station. It was a great learning experience to see this significant infrastructure in the city.

The Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), one of the iconic buildings in Toronto transformed by Toronto-born architect, Frank Gehry, offers free admission to the public every Wednesday from 6 pm to 9 pm. We took advantage of the free Wednesday nights and visited its gallery and special exhibitions. AGO is huge. It houses a wide range of art collections, paintings, sculptures, statues from all over the world from floor to floor. In addition, the design of the building is amazing. Galleria Italia, the massive glass and wood facade, has become the hallmark of AGO. It's good to spend an evening appreciating masterpieces in an environment like that.

Tulips are a sign of Spring. They are also symbols of perfect love. Believe it or not, they also signify international friendships between Netherlands and Canada. Tulips commemorate the birth of Dutch Princess Margriet in Ottawa during World War II. They are the historic royal gifts from the Dutch to Canadians in gratitude for Canadian troops in the liberation of the Netherlands and Europe. While we appreciate the flowers as the tulips bloom in Ontario, it is important for us to know the history behind the beautiful plant.
It was a perfect day for outing. We enjoyed the clear sunny sky and mild temperature, though a little warmer in this afternoon. However, tulips looked best with plenty of sunlight. We experienced the beauty of 2 millions of tulips on 25 acres in a tulip pick farm in Fenwick, Ontario. The tulips there came in different colors and types. All of them were charming! Besides taking photos of these colorful blooms, each of us might pick the 10 freshest tulips of our choices and bring them home. Tulips are a beautiful addition to family. They have really freshened and brightened our day!

We visited Bruce's Mill Conservation Area , where the Maple Syrup Festival was held. We learned how the maple syrup was made by walking on the trail, along which staff was present to explain how the syrup was made in logs and provide other related information. Towards the end of the trail, maple syrup sampling was given for every visitor to try. Despite the muddy trail, it was a very educational experience for us. After the maple syrup tour, we went to Upper Canada Mall for afternoon tea. We had a great day out with the warm weather.

The McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinburg is an art museum in the woodland setting featuring various painting work by Group of Seven and other Canadian artists. The garden outside also exhibited some interesting sculptures. This art gallery is surrounded by good hiking trails. Although we did not get a chance to walk on the serene trails that were covered with snow, the nice landscape actually complimented the overall experience of visiting the gallery.

Aga Khan Museum is beautiful in and out. Before we explored the museum, we met at Diwan restaurant for lunch, a very refined venue with elegant designs and full-height glass windows overlooking the garden. When we entered the exhibition rooms, the soft lighting made us feel comfortable and relaxed, adding higher level of enjoyment to our visit. Aga Khan Museum is definitely a good place to learn about the Muslim civilization and Arabic, Persian, Turkish and African Islamic arts. Even if you are not an art enthusiast, you will still enjoy your time being there.

Some of our Goldie friends have previously visited Dubai, which is a wealthy country in the Middle East famous for its luxury shopping and iconic architectural landmarks, such as the crescent-shaped Burj Al Arab Hotel built on a man-made island. In addition to this only 7-star hotel in the world, we were also introduced other top-notch hotels in Dubai. Although the room rates of these hotels are very pricey, their rooms are elegantly designed and the services are world-class. If anyone goes to Dubai in the future, it would be worthwhile to check them out.
